Google Safely, Ends Malware Issue

Google finally put an  end about the outbreak of malware that creates such fear to all Android users, last week. A number of false applications under an attack called "Droid Dream" was removed from the Android Market by Google. They say that Android users on 2.2.1 and below are at risk, so those of you gingerbread or honeycomb should have nothing to fear about. In addition, Google will use Kill switch that will allow them to remotely remove applications from any device that is affected. This is a security measure we've heard for a long time and are a growing recognition as attacks are finally washed out.

This specific attack is only able to transmit device data to a remote server, but other studies have helped security experts discovered the code that would download additional code. This technique is by far the most alarming of them - users will not hesitate when an application does not request access to all information from their unit and features. These applications have been removed and Google says they are working so that incidents like these may minimized in the future. Having an open market is great, but it deals with great responsibility and we hope that Google is making everything possible to put people in confident in downloadng applications anytime.[Google]
