Previous software builds are based on AVG's Antivirusfree for Android which only caters with smartphone. Now AVG is offering the same protection for tablet devices, which expected to grow this year as many of Tablet devices launched recently just like Android tablets to rival Apple's Ipad.
AVG Mobilation for Android works by protecting tablets by scanning apps, settings, data and media files for viruses and malware. AVG said it can perform all of these scans in real-time.
New features include a backup that can create copies of contacts, call logs, bookmarks, messages and installed applications, which are automatically saved on an SD card.
The "app locker" gives the users an option to enable password protection for the app, which effectively filtered system for non G-rated apps. AVG reports that a tremendous 89 per cent of smartphone users were much confident about security on their devices, unaware that apps can transmit payment information without the user's knowledge or consent.
It added also that 91 per cent of users are unaware that financial apps can get infected with malware that designed to steal credit card numbers and other banking information.
